Abstract

A special focus will be placed on those groups that are impacted most by HIV/AIDS which include Black men who have sex with men and Black women. This chapter is meant to serve as a call to action and bring to light the importance of utilizing culturally responsive HIV-related interventions to address the staggering statistics related to HIV incidence and prevalence among Black Americans. Moreover, these identified approaches will incorporate the complex co-occurring issues such as mental health, substance use, poverty, racism and discrimination, as well as stigma.
